Surface Transforms hires chief operating officer

Liverpool-based Surface Transforms plc, manufacturers of carbon fibre reinforced ceramic automotive brake discs, announced the appointment of Stephen Easton as its new (non-board) chief operating officer, effective September 4, 2023. 

Easton joins Surface Transforms from SGL Carbon, where he is currently UK Managing Director.

“During his 16-year tenure at SGL Carbon, a graphite and fibre manufacturing company, he has held various leadership positions both in the UK and US, specialising in carbon and oxidised fibre,” said Surface Transforms.

“Prior to this, he worked in a number of different operational roles for Brand-Rex, a cable manufacturing company.  

“He holds an honours degree in Manufacturing Engineering & Management from the University of Dundee.

“Stephen’s appointment is a further step in the strengthening of the company’s senior management team to ensure the company successfully delivers its current manufacturing expansion plan and financial transformation into a high revenue growth and profitable business.

“This includes the delivery of its £290m (lifetime value) order book and £393m (lifetime value) prospective contract pipeline.”
