Croda sales up, holds full-year outlook

Croda International plc, the Snaith, East Yorkshire-based specialty chemicals giant, said sales rose modestly in the third quarter and kept its full year outlook unchanged.

The company reported sales of £407 million, up 5% from a year ago, and up 8% at constant currency.

It kept its full year outlook unchanged for adjusted profit before tax in the range of £260 million to  £280 million at constant currency, with an adverse impact of currency translation of around £14 million.

Croda cut its forecast to that level in July after a dip in sales of its crop protection products.

Steve Foots, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our third quarter sales performance reflects ongoing momentum in our Fragrances and Flavours business within Consumer Care and improved sales in our agriculture businesses in Life Sciences.

“Whilst we are benefitting from more stable customer inventories and demand in key markets and geographies, the overall trading environment remains challenging. We continue to focus on strengthening the Group through delivering our strategy combined with tight cost control and capital discipline.”

Croda will report financial results for full year 2024 on 25 February 2025.
