Harrogate-based IT managed services provider Redcentric plc, which has undergone a number of boardroom changes in the past year, confirmed on Friday afternoon that it is in “the advanced stages of discussions concerning the potential sale” of its Redcentric Data Centres Limited business.
Redcentric shares rose about 15%.
Redcentric has a portfolio of eight data centres with 41MW of available capacity strategically located across the UK from London to West Yorkshire.
The data centres serve a diverse blue chip customer base, providing critical services “to Enterprise-grade clients and Government entities” reliant on secure data centres and uninterrupted connectivity.
“The Board of Directors of Redcentric plc … notes the recent press speculation regarding its business unit, Redcentric Data Centres Limited,” said the Harrogate firm.
“Redcentric plc confirms that it is in the advanced stages of discussions concerning the potential sale of this business unit.
“However, there can be no certainty that a transaction will occur and further updates will be provided as appropriate.”
