Severfield, the Thirsk, North Yorkshire-based international steel group, announced the appointment of Jan Bramall as interim chief financial officer (CFO), effective November 1, 2025.
“Jan Bramall is an accomplished finance executive with extensive experience both in the UK and internationally,” said Severfield.
“Since 2018, Jan has been with Manchester Airports Group (MAG), serving as their Chief Financial Officer.
“She previously held CFO positions at global industrial companies including Laing O’Rourke, Tyco and Johnson Controls.
“Jan will continue in this interim role until a permanent CFO appointment is made. The board has initiated a comprehensive search and is actively recruiting for a permanent CFO.”
Severfield chair Charlie Cornish said: “Jan’s extensive experience with multiple international businesses will provide significant support and strong financial leadership during this transitional period.
“The board and I look forward to working with her during our search for a permanent successor.”
On September 11, Severfield announced that after almost eight years as its chief financial officer, Adam Semple “agreed with the board that he will step down from his role as CFO and leave the group at the end of October 2025.”
On August 13, Severfield announced the appointment of former Laing O’Rourke executive Paul McNerney as its new CEO. Former Severfield CEO Alan Dunsmore stepped down “by mutual consent” after seven years on June 30.
The company’s shares are down roughly 60% for the past year, reducing the company’s stock market value to about £95 million.
Severfield’s high-profile achievements in recent years have included its work on Wimbledon No.1 Court, Tottenham Hotspur FC Stadium, First Direct Arena, Outernet London and the Lord’s Cricket Ground Expansion.
