Begbies Traynor rebrands as BTG Consulting

Begbies Traynor Group plc, the Manchester-based business recovery, financial advisory and real estate firm, announced it is rebranding and will change its name to BTG Consulting plc “to more accurately represent the group’s broad and evolving range of services.”

The firm said: “Following a decade of growth, the group has evolved from its heritage in insolvency and restructuring to become a broad-based financial and real estate advisory business. Over the course of the last ten years, it has reported a CAGR in revenue, adjusted profit before tax and dividends of 13%, 20% and 8%, respectively.

“Accordingly, to reflect the evolution of its business and breadth of services, the name of the group will change to BTG Consulting plc and operations have been rebranded with a common BTG brand.”

With immediate effect, BTG activities will be marketed under eight service lines: restructuring, deal advisory, funding and insurance, financial advisory, valuations and asset advisory, agency and auctions, projects and developments, and property management and insurance.

Formal insolvency appointments will use BTG Begbies Traynor as a sub-brand. BTG’s real estate advisory business will operate using BTG Eddisons as a sub-brand.

The company has applied to Companies House to change its name from Begbies Traynor Group plc to BTG Consulting plc.

CEO Mark Fry said: “This is an exciting development for the group and enables us to bring our market-leading financial and real estate advisory businesses together under common branding. This change reflects the evolution of the group in recent years into a broad-based advisory business.

“The rebranding to BTG will enable us to further leverage our expertise to enhance, protect and realise the value of our clients’ businesses, assets and investments; providing strategic advice and solutions that drive growth, mitigate risk, and deliver lasting value.”

Executive chairman Ric Traynor said: “The evolution to BTG reflects the significant growth and development of the business in recent years and our plans to deliver our medium-term targets and beyond. The updated branding is better aligned with the broad range of services and capabilities available within the Group and our ability to assist our clients across multiple areas of expertise.”
