LBG Media plc, the Manchester-based online publisher of LADbible and other brands for a young adult demographic, said Darren Singer has been appointed as its chief financial officer (CFO).
Singer will join the board of directors and take up his role on March 9, 2026.
LBG said Dave Wilson, who has served as executive chair “with a particular focus on supporting the finance, legal and investor relations teams” since January 2025, will return to his non-executive chair role, and will oversee a smooth transition of responsibilities.
“Darren is an experienced financial executive with a strong track record across digital media, advertising and technology-enabled businesses,” said LBG.
“He brings significant operational and financial expertise to LBG Media across the strategy, M&A, risk, audit and legal functions.
“Darren’s most recent role was as CFO at Inspired Thinking Group (ITG), a technology-enabled marketing services and software business.
“Working closely with the founder CEO, he supported the business during a period of significant international expansion, playing a key role in developing and executing strategies to scale the business globally and further enhance its technology-led offering.
“Previously, Darren was CFO of Global Media & Entertainment Group from November 2015, partnering with the executive team as the business evolved into a more diversified, digitally enabled media group.
“Earlier in his career, he held senior finance roles at Guardian Media Group, GroupM (now WPP Media) and Sky Group, gaining extensive experience operating at scale within complex, multinational environments.”
LBG Media CEO and founder Solly Solomou said: “We are pleased to welcome Darren to the Board at an important stage in our growth. Darren brings significant experience of operating at scale across a range of digital media and technology businesses and his financial and operational expertise will be a valuable addition to the leadership team as we continue to develop and execute our growth strategy.
“I would also like to thank Dave Wilson for his contribution. The Company is well positioned for the next phase of growth and we look forward to working with Darren as part of a strengthened leadership team, as we continue to deliver on our ambition to become the leading social entertainment powerhouse.”
Singer said: “I am excited to be joining LBG Media at such a pivotal point in its journey. The Group has built a distinctive digital entertainment platform with strong audience engagement and a clear opportunity for further development.
“Over the past three decades in media, I have seen first-hand the structural shift towards digital-first formats, a trend that will continue to accelerate.
“As a business born in the digital era and operating at the forefront of entertainment, LBG Media is extremely well-placed to capitalise on this evolution. I look forward to working with the Board and management team to support the next phase of the Company’s journey.”
