Sheffield’s SIG says CFO has resigned

SIG plc, the Sheffield-based international building materials supplier, said it has received notice from Ian Ashton of his resignation as the group’s chief financial officer (CFO) in order that he may take up a new role at TT Electronics plc.

Ashton joined SIG as CFO in July 2020.

“A process is underway to identify a successor as CFO,” said SIG. “Ian will remain in his role for a period of up to six months.”

SIG chair Andrew Allner said: “Ian has contributed significantly to the development and strengthening of the group’s financial and operating processes. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Ian and wish him well for the future.”

SIG CEO and chair designate Pim Vervaat said: “I have enjoyed working with Ian and I thank him in particular for his input to the development of SIG’s 2030 strategy.

“I join with Andrew Allner in wishing Ian well for the future.”

Ashton said: “I am proud of the progress the business has made over the last six years and believe that the group is well placed to deliver on the next stage of its strategic plan under Pim’s leadership.

“I look forward to the new challenges that the role at TT Electronics will bring for me.”
