Maven Capital Partners has announced two new appointments to its Newcastle-based North East of England team, with Katie Bohill and Niall Choat joining the firm as investment managers.
The appointments further strengthening its investment capability as it continues to support the growth and scale-up ambitions of companies across the region.
Bohill joins Maven as an investment manager with responsibility for deal origination and execution across the North East of England.
Prior to joining Maven, she spent three years in EY’s audit team, where she worked with some of the region’s largest plcs and qualified as an ACA Chartered Accountant.
A Chemical Engineering graduate, Bohill began her career in CPI’s Biotechnology division, where she supported process scale-up and optimisation projects across the AgriFoodTech and pharma sectors.
Choat joins Maven as an investment manager from FRP Corporate Finance, where he advised on a range of mid-market M&A and capital raising transactions across multiple sectors.
Prior to this, he held roles at Aspire Technology Solutions, RSM and Deloitte, building broad experience in advising growth businesses and their stakeholders.
Having worked in both industry and practice, his background spans deal execution, strategic advisory and supporting management teams through key stages of growth and investment.
Maven supports a substantial and growing number of ambitious businesses as fund manager for the British Business Bank’s Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II) and Business Durham’s, Finance Durham Fund across their office network in Newcastle, Durham and Middlesbrough.
“The two appointments further enhance Maven’s highly experienced investment team, which has a strong and proven track record of backing ambitious, high growth businesses across the North East,” said Maven.
“The expanded team will continue to work closely with local companies, providing hands-on support, strategic guidance and access to Maven’s wider national network.”
