Sheffield-based green hydrogen firm ITM Power plc announced a “major milestone” for its GET H2 Nukleus hydrogen project — the successful production and delivery of initial quantities of green hydrogen from RWE’s electrolysis plant in Lingen, Germany.

In total, ITM Power and Linde Engineering are delivering two 100 MW plants to RWE in Lingen.

“As part of the ongoing commissioning process, green hydrogen has been successfully produced and transported via approximately 120 km of hydrogen pipeline infrastructure for usage at Evonik’s chemical park in Marl,” said ITM Power.

“This demonstrates the integration of large-scale hydrogen production, transport and industrial offtake, marking one of the first operational hydrogen value chains in Europe.”
