Newcastle’s Drummond Central acquires CoalFace

Newcastle-based marketing and communications agency Drummond Central said it acquired digital specialists CoalFace, also based in The Toon, to boost its digital business.

Drummond Central said CoalFace’s nine-strong team would provide digital support to all its existing projects, whilst maintaining its own established client portfolio.

CoalFace will continue to trade under its own name and service its existing customer base.

“We’ve worked with CoalFace on a number of projects and the relationship just clicked,” said Drummond Central CEO Julie Drummond.

“They’re as down-to-earth as we are, masters at what they do, and share our passion for producing awesome work. So we knew the cultural fit was going to be perfect …

“Our goal has always been to deliver groundbreaking, world-class campaigns that create real business benefit.

“We are unashamedly ambitious and the addition of CoalFace allows us to be at the top of our game in absolutely everything we do.”

CoalFace director Paul Davidson said: “This is an exciting move for everyone – Drummond Central give us new creative capabilities and we offer strong technical know how.

“It’s a tried and trusted partnership that benefits everyone, especially clients.”
