Leeds-based Sweco UK buys engineer MLM

Leeds-based architecture and engineering consultancy Sweco UK has signed an agreement to acquire MLM Group, a UK engineering consultancy with services primarily within buildings, transportation infrastructure and environment.

With the acquisition, Sweco UK will have a turnover of about £108 million with 26 offices and 1,340 employees.

“Sweco’s ambition is to be the market leader in eight key countries in Northern Europe,” said Sweco CEO Åsa Bergman.

“Through this acquisition, we will strengthen our position in the UK, a market that we believe in for the future.

“Our businesses have a strong cultural fit, based on customer focus and a decentralised organisation model.

“Together, we look forward to providing our customers in the UK with an even stronger offering.”
