Eddie Stobart wins ‘substantial’ Morrisons contract

Warrington-based Eddie Stobart, now a subsidiary of GreenWhiteStar Acquisitions Limited (GWSA), said on Friday it has been appointed by Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc to provide transportation services from two distribution centres.

The new “substantial” contract is additional to the work that Eddie Stobart currently carries out for Morrisons.

The new three-year contract will see Eddie Stobart manage all transport planning and deliveries of chilled and “ambient” groceries from the two locations to Morrisons’ network of supermarkets.

GWSA executive chairman William Stobart said: “This further enhances our existing relationship with Morrisons and is testament to our current performance.

“It is excellent news for Eddie Stobart and strengthens our position in the marketplace as the leading transport provider for the retail and consumer sectors”
