Campus accommodation and infrastructure specialists University Partnerships Programme (UPP) said plans for a £130 million student accommodation scheme at the University of Hull have been approved.
UPP said it will raise the required investment and handle the design, construction and operation of the project, of which the construction value is £80 million.
“The West Campus Residences development will provide a further 1,462 students with a mix of high-quality room types and facilities to meet a growing demand for affordable on-campus accommodation and provide a greater choice of accommodation types to suit all budgets for both new and returning students,” said UPP.
UPP CEO Sean O’Shea said: “This scheme will facilitate the university’s ambitious plans and have a positive impact on the wider community, both economically and culturally …
“By investing further in exceptional infrastructure that enhances the distinctive features of the University’s campus and promotes sustainable living, the university will build on its market-leading position in terms of delivering the very best student experience.”
Construction on the West Campus Residences Project is scheduled to begin in May 2017 with work due to be completed by the end of 2019.
