Virgin Media Business said its ultrafast Voom Fibre connectivity — which offers download speeds of up to 350Mbps — is now available in Manchester city centre.
Virgin said the median broadband speed in Manchester is currently 16.5Mbps.
“This upgrade will deliver entry-level speeds up to twenty times faster to businesses in the area, opening them up to new business opportunities and growth potential,” said Virgin.
Voom Fibre was launched by Richard Branson on May 2 with prices starting from £30 per month.
Businesses can choose a variety of upload speeds depending on their requirements.
Martin McFadyen, Regional Director, Virgin Media Business, said: ‘Too many office blocks and small businesses in Manchester are stuck in the analogue age and businesses are suffering as a result.
“By expanding our ultrafast network into the bustling Deansgate area, we can transform hundreds of businesses and give them the connectivity they deserve.
“We’re on a mission to help small business thrive by giving them more speed than they need through our new, market disrupting broadband, Voom Fibre.
“To make all of this happen the cooperation of local councils and landlords is essential to getting planning approvals so that office blocks and business premises are connected without delay.”
