Warrington-based Eddie Stobart Logistics plc confirmed on Wednesday it had received a “highly preliminary” expression of interest from TVFC Ltd, a company controlled by Stobart Group’s former CEO Andrew Tinkler.
Eddie Stobart was previously a part of Carlisle-based Stobart Group.
Earlier this month, Eddie Stobart said that its third largest shareholder, DBAY Advisors Limited, had expressed a similar interest in taking over the company.
In a stock exchange statement, Eddie Stobart said: “The board of Eddie Stobart Logistics plc notes the recent media speculation and confirms that it has received a highly preliminary expression of interest from TVFC (3) Limited, a company controlled by Andrew Tinkler, in relation to a possible offer to for the entire issued, and to be issued, share capital of the company.
“The company emphasis that there can be no certainty either that an offer will be made nor as to the terms of any offer, if made.
“A further announcement will be made when appropriate.”
