Barrow-in-Furness international marine services company James Fisher and Sons plc said on Monday it has appointed Serco Group’s chief financial officer Angus Cockburn as non-executive chairman with effect from May 1, 2021.
“As announced on 27 February 2020, Malcolm Paul informed the board of his intention to retire as chairman and a non-executive director of the company once a successor had been identified,” said James Fisher and Sons.
” Malcolm will retire as a director on 30 April 2021, following the company’s Annual General Meeting.
“Angus is currently group chief financial officer at Serco Group Plc, a position he has held since October 2014.
“He will step down from the Serco board at its AGM in April 2021.
“Angus’s previous roles have included chief financial officer and interim chief executive of Aggreko plc, managing director of Pringle of Scotland and senior finance positions at PepsiCo Inc.”
Cockburn is a chartered accountant with an MBA from the IMD Business School in Switzerland and is an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Cockburn is currently a non-executive director of Ashtead Group plc and the privately owned Scottish drinks giant Edrington Group Limited.
