Peel Ports, which owns and operates Liverpool’s dockyards, said it is looking for a commercial partner to develop a historic 100,000 square foot dock on the waterfront.
Huskisson Dock, named after former Liverpool MP William Huskisson, is located near Everton FC’s new £750 million stadium, still under construction. Opened in 1852, the dock was severely damaged by German bombs during the Blitz and was used by Cunard liners in the 1960s.
Peel Ports is aiming to transform the site into a hub for companies in the distribution, manufacturing, and specialist operations sectors. With connections to road, rail, and sea, Peel Ports said it wants to collaborate with interested parties on development projects, which may include warehouses, processing plants, or specialised storage facilities.
Phil Hall at Peel Ports said: “This land at Huskisson Dock is in a great location and with its strong road, rail, and sea links across the North West and beyond, it is ideal for organisations working in distribution and manufacturing.”
“For organisations looking to call Huskisson Dock home, they’ll find they have all the support they need through our port-centric services to allow them to perform as efficiently as possible.”
Located within the Liverpool city region Freeport, Peel Ports said the site provides a range of incentives for occupiers, including benefits related to customs, business rates, planning, regeneration, innovation, and trade and investment support.
