Bruntwood SciTech has opened a base in Leeds city centre called West Village after a £20 million redevelopment.
The UK’s largest property developer focusing on office, lab and event space for the science and tech sector, said the 230,000 sq ft project is already 75% pre-let.
Bruntwood said West Village offers a mix of coworking, serviced and leased spaces with varying lease lengths suitable for businesses of all sizes from startups to large, established businesses. It said it will “support the city’s vibrant culture of knowledge, creativity and innovation and contribute to the economic growth impact from the innovation sector to the city.”
Lloyds Bank recently named Leeds as the fastest-growing digital economy in the UK. Bruntwood said tenants at West Village will include global insurtech innovators QBE, Australian fintech company PEXA and coding bootcamp Northcoders.
Bruntwood SciTech is a joint venture between Bruntwood, Legal & General, and Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
