Severfield, the Thirsk, North Yorkshire-based steel group, announced the appointment of Ian McAulay as a non-executive director and workforce engagement director with effect from November 25, 2024.
McAulay will also serve on the company’s remuneration, nomination and audit committees. Severfield has seven sites and 1,900 employees.
“Ian brings over three decades of extensive experience in the water, environmental, and utility sectors, having held significant leadership roles in both publicly quoted FTSE 100/250 companies and privately held enterprises, both in the UK and internationally,” said Severfield.
“His leadership roles have included serving as CEO of Southern Water and Viridor.
“He has also made significant contributions in a non-executive capacity as a member of Greater Manchester Authorities Low Carbon Hub Board and the Scottish Government’s 2020 Climate Change Board.
“His current roles are as non-executive chair of Isla Utilities Limited (a utilities innovation consultancy business) and Papilo Limited (a waste management company) and as a non-executive director at Scottish Water.”
