Supreme plc, the Manchester-based supplier of vaping supplies, drinks and fast-moving consumer goods, said it is in talks to buy Typhoo Tea, which recently entered into administration.
“The Board of Supreme can confirm that it is currently participating in a process regarding the potential acquisition of Typhoo Tea,” it said in a short statement.
“Whilst discussions with the administrators are now at an advanced stage, there can be no certainty that the potential acquisition will be completed. No final terms of the potential acquisition have been agreed but the Company can however confirm that any potential offer would be funded by Supreme’s existing bank facilities.”
Supreme said it would make any further announcements will be made as and when appropriate.
Any deal would push Supreme further into the beverage market after buying the parent of Clearly Drinks for £15 million earlier this year.
