Bury-based FTSE 100 retailer JD Sports Fashion Plc said on Monday its executive chairman Peter Cowgill sold about 2.6 million shares in the company last Friday for about £19.2 million.

Cowgill sold the shares on October 30 at an average price of 745.6p per share.

JD Sports shares fell about 7% on Monday to around 691p.

“Following this disposal, Peter Cowgill has a total interest in 3,892,934, representing 0.4% of the issued share capital of the company,” said JD Sports.
